The Flutes and Friends Project was launched in 2008 in response to a love of chamber music and desire to work closely and personally with other musicians.

F&F is a flexible, ever-changing ensemble that can span everything from a flute sextet to flute(s) with piano, cello, viola, harp, clarinet and soprano or tenor voice. Any combination is possible; I'm having the time of my life arranging music for my friends to perform together.

In fact, this situation resembles Franz Schubert's life in amazing accuracy! A true replication of 19th century Parlor Music, music is written for the individual performing it, often just days before the rehearsal.

We rehearse in our homes, edit arrangements on the spot, and entertain our families in the process.

Performances have included weddings, summer park concerts, church services, local wineries and more.

Contact me at klkirsh@windstream.net or 859-335-6586 if you'd like to arrange a performance or join us in the Parlor. Schubert can only be smiling!
